The sixth generation of BMW 7 Series was introduced for the 2016 model year. Known as the G11, this new generation of 7 Series was offered with a variety of gas and diesel engines, as well as hybrid options (designated with an "e"). Both short and long wheelbase versions were built, with long wheelbase variants designated with an "L" in the name. Notable variants include the 740e, 740Le, 740i, 750i, 750i xDrive, and the 750Li xDrive, as well as the M-tuned M760i. Production of the G11 BMW 7 Series ended in 2022 with the introduction of the next generation G70 BMW 7 Series.
