The Chrysler Series 70 was introduced in 1927. The Series 70 was Chrysler's top intermediate model, placed below the Chrysler Imperial, but above its sibling the Series 60. The 1927 Series 70 was available in a wide range of body styles, including roadster, sedan, convertible, coupe, landaulet, and phaeton, all of which were powered by a 3.6L inline six. For the 1928 model year, Chrysler renamed the Series 70, calling the model the Series 72, and fitting it with a larger 4.1L inline six. Although the Series 70 was succeeded by the Chrysler Series 75 in 1929, a second line of Series 70 cars known as the Series 70 / II was reintroduced in 1930, and was built until 1932.
