Daimler, also known as the Daimler Company Limited, was a British automotive manufacturer founded in 1896. Although the name Daimler was licenced from DMG (Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft), Daimler Company Limited shared no other affiliation with Mercedes-Benz's parent company. Daimler created a wide range of cars, including luxury and sporting models, featuring prominently in the pre-WW2 automobile market. Notable Daimler models include the DB18, SP250, and DS420. Daimler would eventually find itself under the ownership of Jaguar, who used the Daimler name to signify high-end versions of their cars. This arrangement continued until 2007 when the Daimler brand was discontinued.
