Diamond T Model 406 (1935 to 1939)

The Model 406 was introduced in 1935 by Diamond T as a pre war commercial heavy duty truck designed for industrial, construction and heavy haul applications. It was offered in 4x2 and 6x4 configurations, with a 4 or 5 speed manual transmission, and featured robust Hercules or Continental L-Head inline six engines, with displacements typically ranging from 7.0L to 8.7L. It had a conventional 2 door cab and was sold in multiple body styles including cargo, stake bed, dump, tanker and tractor. Notably, the Model 406 was distinguished by its solid construction and above average finish for the 1930s, solidifying Diamond T's reputation as a manufacturer of high quality trucks before its transition to military production during World War II. The Diamond T Model 406 was produced until 1939.
