Ford Falcon (1960 to 1970)

Introduced September 2, 1959, the Ford Falcon is a front-engine, rear-drive six passenger compact car produced by Ford from 1959 to 1970, across three generations. A sales success for Ford initially, outselling contemporary rivals from Chrysler and General Motors, the Falcon was offered in two-door and four-door sedan, two-door and four-door station wagon, two-door hardtop, convertible, and sedan delivery body configurations. Three main generations of Falcon were built: 1st Gen (1960-1963), 2nd Gen (1964-1965), and 3rd Gen (1966-1970). Ford built an Intermediate size series of cars that with the Falcon name, although these were incredibly short lived as they were only built for the 1970.5 model year. In addition to the North American Falcon, Ford Australia built the Australian Falcon for many years, with a significantly greater production span than the North American version.
