Ford Mustang SAAC (1991 to 1992)

In collaboration with Ford and Carroll Shelby, the Shelby American Automobile Club created the SAAC Car Company to develop and build a limited number of SAAC Mustangs reminiscent of the early Shelby GT350. A first batch of cars was known as MK 1, only available in Wimbledon-White, featured a raft of upgrades including a GT-40 intake and heads, a 65mm throttle body, and ceramic-coated, short-tube headers, among others. A second iteration was known as the MK II and was available in black or red, as well as the introductory Wimbledon White. A third iteration was the SAAC Snake which featured a stock 5.0L engine with an automatic transmission. A total of 250 units were planned, but only 62 cars were produced by the company between 1991 and 1992. The company ceased production after 1992, when Ford introduced the 1993 Mustang Cobra and Cobra R, incorporating many of the SAAC parts and components.
