Ford Mustang LX - 5.0L V8 - 3rd Gen (1984 to 1986)

The Ford Mustang LX was a variant that was first introduced as part of the 1979-1986 Third Generation Mustang. The first evolution of the LX was available in a Hatchback (a/k/a liftback or fastback), Convertible, or Coupe (a/k/a notchback) body style - the latter not available in the GT (note that some enthusiasts are known to favor the LX over the Mustang GT because the Coupe body style provided more rigidity and lacked exterior features that added weight). There were subtle differences in the LX interior design, like upholstery, seat design, and dash controls. In this market, we track Highly Original and Modified samples with a 5.0L V8. The 3.8L V6 version is tracked separately. An optional limited-slip differential sent power to the rear wheels. The first evolution of the Mustang LX was built until 1986, when Ford updated the Mustang and introduced the 1987-1993 Ford Mustang LX.
