The Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG was a high performance variant of the W221 S-Class  introduced for the 2007 model year. This AMG version featured a 6.2 naturally aspirated V8, while later versions were fitted with a 5.4L twin turbo V8 engine sending power to the rear wheels through an automatic transmission. Production of the W221 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG ended for the 2013 although the model series would continue in the next generation W222 Mercedes-Benz S-Class as the W222 S63 AMG
