In 1934 the MG 14/28 Super Sport was launched as the second line of sports cars produced by WR Morris Garage. The first badge of the 14/28’s was fitted with a 1548cc engine and two-seater body in a small premise in Oxford, before moving to the Morris Motors Limited radiator factory at Bainton Road. The badge of these cars still reads Morris Oxford, since MG badges as we know them were introduced in 1928. The 14/28 has a short run of only three years before its successor was introduced in 1927 as the 14/40. The main differences for the model change was a suspension and break upgrade besides the new 1802cc in-line four engine. Production of the 14/40 came to an end in 1929 when the MG 18/80 came to life.
