Suzuki Burgman (1998 to 2027)

The Suzuki Burgman family is Suzuki’s long-running range of premium maxi-scooters, introduced in 1998 with the Burgman 250 and Burgman 400 as successors to the Suzuki Epicuro. Production has continued from 1998 to the present through several generations, encompassing the Burgman 125, 200, 250, 400, and flagship Burgman 650 Executive, with periodic redesigns and market-specific variants rather than a single uninterrupted specification. Powertrains have included liquid-cooled single-cylinder engines of 124 cc, 200 cc, 248 cc, and 400 cc, as well as the 638 cc parallel-twin in the Burgman 650, the latter producing approximately 54 horsepower and making it one of the most powerful production scooters of its era. All models employ rear-wheel drive through continuously variable transmissions, while the Burgman 650’s electronically controlled CVT uniquely offered both fully automatic operation and rider-selectable manual shift modes.
