The Chevrolet Opala was a range of mid-size cars exclusive to the Brazilian market, and introduced for the 1970 model year. These cars were based on the Opel Rekord and built in a variety of body styles, including coupe, sedan, and wagon, and featured a range of inline four and inline six engines. In addition to standard models, more luxurious variants such as the Comodoro and Diplomata were also offered. Production of the Chevrolet Opala lasted until 1992, when it was replaced by the Chevrolet Omega.
