BMW M3 CSL - E46 (2004 to 2004)

The top of the line variant for the E46 M3, the M3 CSL, was introduced for 2004. Harking back the legendary 3.0 CSL, the M3 CSL continued the traditions of the Coupe Sport Lightweight name. Over 240 pounds lighter than a standard E46 M3, the M3 CSL was not only lighter, but it had been structurally reengineered in order to lower the car's center of gravity. Alongside several upgrades to the drivetrain and brakes, the M3 CSL was fitted with a tuned version of the S54 engine. This engine produced 355hp and was only available mated to BMW's SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox). A limited production variant, the M3 CSL saw only 1,383 examples produced, all of which were for the 2004 model year, and none of which were sold in North America.
