The Ford Vedette is a series of mid-size cars introduced in 1948 by Ford SAF (France). Originally concieved as a smaller alternative to the full size Ford, the project did not see American production. Instead, this project would be sold in France in order to recoup the development costs, the resulting model was named the Vedette. The Vedette was available in a variety of body styles, including hatchback, coupe, cabriolet, and station wagon, and was offered with a choice between a 2.2L or 3.9L V8 engine. Production of the Vedette ended in 1954.
