Introduced in 1993, the Mercedes-Benz 500GE was the first V8-powered W463 G-Class variant to be offered. The 500 GE was only available on the long wheelbase and was fitted with Mercedes' M117 E50 engine, which was a 5.0L V8 that generated 237hp and 269 lb ft of torque. Drive was sent from the engine to all four wheels via a 4 speed automatic transmission. Just 446 examples of the Mercedes-Benz 500GE were built before the end of production in 1994.
