The Mercedes-Benz G 280 CDI was a variant of the W461 G-Class. These stripped down work-focused vehicles were built in three variations: G280 CDI Worker (Military), G280 CDI EDITION.30PUR, and G280 CDI Professional. These were all powered by a turbocharged diesel V6 (OM 642 DE 30 LA red.), with an output of 181 bhp and 295 lb⋅ft. At first the G280 CDI was limited to the five-door long wheelbase wagon body style, but later on five more body variations came to life. A three-door long wheelbase panel van (Kastenwagen in German), a five-door long wheelbase wagon, a two-door cabriolet and a two or four-door cab chassis truck (Pritschenwagen in German). The Military variant is still under production, but the civilian variant was discontinued in 2014.
