Porsche 911 Carrera - 3.2 Liter (1984 to 1989)

The Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 was produced for model years 1984 to 1989. Reviving the Carrera name for the first time since 1977, it featured a new higher-displacement power plant, the 3.2L horizontally opposed flat 6-cylinder engine. Compared to its predecessor, the 911 SC, the Carrera 3.2 featured front fog lights that were integrated into the front bumper. During its production years, only minor cosmetic changes were made, namely a redesigned dashboard featuring larger air conditioning vents as of 1986. Mechanically, from 1987 onwards, the Carrera 3.2 was upgraded to Getrag's G50 5-speed manual gearbox. It was available in multiple variants including Coupe, Cabriolet, Targa, Speedster, and the track inspired Club Sport. Vehicles that have undergone major modifications can be found in the Carrera 3.2 Custom market. The Carrera 3.2 was succeeded by the 964 series in 1989.
