BMW 535is - E28 (1987 to 1988)

BMW introduced the 535is for the 1987 model year. This new series of cars were variants of the E28 5 Series that were created for the North American market. As BMW did not import the M535i to North America, they created the 535is, which was largely similar to the E28 535i, but it was fitted with front and rear spoilers, as well as sports suspension, but featured the same M30B34 inline six engine as in the 535i. This short lived 535is was built until 1988, when the model series was discontinued.
