The Alpina B5 was introduced in 2017 as a version of the G30 BMW 5 Series. It was available as a sedan or station wagon, powered by a 4.4L twin-turbo V8 engine derived from the BMW N63, but deeply modified by Alpina to deliver between 608hp and 634hp. It is fitted with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission with Alpina's exclusive Switch-Tronic system and features all-wheel drive optimized for more dynamic behavior. Several versions were offered over the years: the original B5 Bi-Turbo (2017–2020), the facelifted B5 (2020–2023) with power and equipment upgrades, and finally the B5 GT, a special edition limited to 250 units. The G30 BMW Alpina B5 was produced until 2023.
