Introduced as upmarket version of the W120 / W121 generation of Mercedes-Benz E, the W121 was a series of luxury four door sedans. The W121 consisted of two main variants, the 190 and the 190D. Over the course of production the 190 and 190D saw one evolution, the 190b (1959-1961) and the 190Db (1959-1961). Although these cars were only available from the factory as four door sedans, coachbuilt station wagons by Binz & Co. were offered through dealerships. Production of the Mercedes-Benz W121 ended in 1961, before being replaced by the Mercedes-Benz E W110.
