For the 1969 model year, Mercedes-Benz introduced a long wheelbase (LWB) version of the W114/115. These long wheelbase cars were known as Lang or LWB, and were over two feet longer than the W114 Sedan upon which they were based. Due to this extra length, the Lang comfortably sat seven passengers, and is often considered to be more of a limousine than a long wheelbase sedan. Four W114/115 Lang variants were offered: The 230, 230.6, 220D and 240D. Production of the Mercedes-Benz W114/115 Lang series ended in 1977 with a total of 9,895 examples built.
