The BMW 325tds was a diesel powered variant of the E36 3 Series that was introduced for the 1994 model year. The 325tds was available in sedan or wagon body styles, and was powered by BMW's M51D25OL engine. This was a 2.5L turbocharged diesel inline six with an output of 141hp. From the 1997 model year onwards, this engine saw a technical update which kept horsepower the same, but saw torque increase from 192 lb ft to 207 lb ft. Manual and automatic transmission options were available, both of which sent drive to the rear wheels. Production of the E36 BMW 325tds ended in 1998.
