The BMW 325ix was an all wheel drive variant of the E30 BMW 3 Series. Although the model was first introduced for 1986, the 325ix would not reach North America until 1988. Initially, the 325ix was released in sedan and coupe body styles, yet in 1988, a European exclusive touring wagon was added to the lineup. Power came from BMW's M20B25 2.5L inline six engine, with power sent to all four wheels via manual or automatic transmissions and through a Ferguson transfer case with a 37:63 front to rear power split. Six main variants were built: Coupe - Manual, Coupe - Automatic, Sedan - Manual, Sedan - Automatic, Touring - Manual, and Touring - Automatic. Production of the E30 325ix lasted until 1991.
