Debuting for the 1999 model year, the 323i was available as a four door sedan or Touring wagon, although BMW would introduce a convertible and coupe version known as the 323Ci. These rear wheel drive cars were powered by BMW's M52TU 2.5L inline six engine, and available with automatic or manual transmission options. Production of the 323i would last until 2000, when it was replaced by the E46 BMW 325i.
